Renewal resources: Prepare for open enrollment

During open enrollment (November 1 through January 31) we encourage every member to take some time to reflect on their health care needs going into the next year.

If your current plan is still a good fit based on your needs and budget and will still be available to you next year, then your enrollment is all set. Paying your monthly premium keeps you enrolled.

Choose the right health plan for you

We know how important choosing the right healthcare coverage can be. If you are thinking that a different plan might be better, you can use this information to help you prepare, so you can feel good about your choice for the coming year.

When you know what plan you want or are comfortable with a straightforward plan comparison to help you choose, you can log in to your online account to switch plans. Also, we have provided a video to guide you through the steps.

Compare plan types to help make your transition smoother. You can purchase some plans either directly from Blue Shield or from Covered California, California’s health plan marketplace.

Stay with Blue Shield for less

Due to the changes in the availability of federal financial help in the form of subsidies and the eligibility requirements for enrolling in the Silver 73 cost sharing reduction plan, you may be able to pay less for a monthly premium by enrolling in a plan sold directly through Blue Shield. You might be able to pay a lower monthly premium even if you qualify for a subsidy.

• Silver 1750 PPO
• Silver 2600 HDHP PPO
• Bronze 7500 Trio HMO
